About the Artist

Hugely respected as both a club DJ and radio broadcaster, this renowned tastemaker has made his name introducing his legions of listeners to a range of exciting genres and fresh sounds. Catch one of his sets live and you’re sure to further your musical education… while also cutting some serious rug on the dancefloor.

Expertly delving into an eclectic mix of genres, ranging from world music to electronic, soul and hip-hop, this magpie-eyed record-spinner has a global reputation as a skilled party-starter. Regularly hailed as the successor to legendary DJ John Peel, his diverse record collection ensures fans never quite know what he’s going to play next when he hits the wheels of steel. As a youngster, the aspiring DJ got his first break on the airwaves of London’s pirate station Radio Invicta in the early ’80s, where he set out to weave a musical collage of songs. Rising up through the ranks of regular gigs and club nights, the DJ also hosted his acclaimed Worldwide show on Radio 1 between 1998 and 2012. Famous broadcasts included exclusive sessions from the likes of Bjork and Roots Manuva, along with live sets from the Big Chill festival. Never one to sit still for too long, this ultra obsessive also heads up no less than three record labels.

However, catching Peterson live is still the best way to find out which amazing tracks and groundbreaking artists are worth watching out for – along with offering a chance to hear one or two must-hear classics.
