Yankari Afrobeat Collective & Elikya

Yankari, formed in 2015 from the Dublin Afrobeat Ensemble, is dedicated to advancing Afrobeat, blending Yoruba, Igbo, and other Nigerian musical traditions. Led by multi-instrumentalist Segun Akano, the band combines Yoruba adages, Afrobeat, and jazz influences with a strong rhythm section, vocal chorus, and organ; after notable appearances on various platforms, Yankari is set to release their debut album, featuring artwork by renowned Afrobeat artist Baba Lemi Ghariokwu. Their live shows are known for their precise, passionate performances and aim to unite and celebrate audiences through music.

Ireland based Elikya have, over the last twenty years, acted as Congolese Music’s Ambassadors to the nation. This 9 piece rumba / dance / bass heavy outfit brings together all the elements of Congolese music. Entrancing guitar melodies, hip- commanding basslines and melodic, relentless percussion topped off with the melodic sweetness that singing in Congo’s main language “Lingala” brings.With a penchant for precision, performance and theatrics, Elikya take modern Congolese music history and and combine it with hypnotizing low end magic.Elikya have earned their place for 20 years as flag bearers of Modern Congolese Rumba and Ndombolo, leaving people in a frenzy up anddown the country.
