Shane Johnson has been playing and producing records in his hometown of Cork for more than twenty years. Throughout the 1990s, his DJ residency with Greg Dowling at the city’s legendary Sir Henry’s introduced a generation of Irish clubbers to house music and hosted some of the biggest names on the international underground circuit. Since then, the duo has travelled widely, bringing their unique sound to clubs and festivals across Ireland, Europe, and beyond. They’ve also welcomed many of the world’s top house DJs to their long-running Go Deep parties while their radio show has consistently championed fresh talent.
Under their Fish Go Deep alias, Greg and Shane’s production work has also reached a global audience. Their debut EP, Vol. 1, became an underground hit and was followed by dozens of releases on respected labels such as i! Records, Innervisions, and Freerange. In 2005, their single The Cure and the Cause became a major club and chart hit via Defected, cementing their reputation as producers. More albums and EPs followed, including Draw the Line (2012), This Bit of Earth (2021), and What I Mean By Beautiful (2023), alongside acclaimed remixes for house heavyweights like Kerri Chandler and Charles Webster. Their music continues to receive worldwide support from influential DJs and remains central to the house music landscape.
