Cork has been no stranger to legendary rock gigs over the years. The Rolling Stones in The Savoy, Pink Floyd in The Arcadia, U2 at the Lee Fields. But for many, it is Rory Gallagher’s hometown shows at Cork City Hall that linger fondest in the memory.
On the Sunday of the Jazz Weekend, October 26th, some of Ireland’s greatest rock musicians will gather to remember Rory. Kicking off at 2pm and running til 5:30pm, Cork City Hall will host Deuce, Moonchild and Crow Black Chicken, for an afternoon of pure rock and roll.
Now, as part of celebrations to mark 30 years since Rory’s untimely passing, Cork Jazz Festival are proud to announce a special event in that famous venue where Rory recorded much of his legendary “Irish Tour 1974” live album.
