To celebrate the 85th anniversary of the landmark jazz record label, Guinness Cork Jazz Festival is proud to announce a collaboration with Blue Note Records that underlines the label’s contributions to the worlds of music and visual art. Engagingly situated in Cork’s St. Peters Church, the installation includes an interactive, walk-through display of the label’s iconic artwork, and Blue Note’s first ever Irish pop-up store.

The store offers a one-stop shop for music fans to see and experience the impact of the revered label, a history that encompasses countless touchstones of modern music, from legendary names to the obscure geniuses, all of whom contributed to the real essence of jazz. Suitably, for an institution that had such an impact on the world of design, the installation focuses on the artwork and innovative graphics the Blue Note pioneered, with displays of hand-picked representatives from their treasure trove of album art.

Alongside the gallery display, Blue Note has provided exclusive items for fans to purchase as mementos of this first-of-its-kind experience: framed canvas artwork, Blue Note 85 prints, audio and visual installations, exclusive merchandise (yes, there will be T-shirts and tote-bags!), plus vinyl, CDs, DVD and Blu-Ray copies of the recent, highly acclaimed film Blue Note Records Beyond The Notes, as well as a special anniversary edition of the celebrated book, Blue Note: Uncompromising Expression: The Finest in Jazz Since 1939 by the late Richard Havers. The store will also feature a selection of curated stock from Ireland’s own vinyl emporium, The Record Hub, making it a must-see part of the Guinness Cork Jazz Fest!

Open to public: Friday 25th to Wednesday 30th – 9:30am to 5:30pm
