Staples Jr. Singers

The Staples Jr. Singers, siblings Edward, Annie, and R.C. Brown from Aberdeen, Mississippi, started performing as children, influenced by the issues of their time and wrote music with messages of community and social justice.

 In 1975, they recorded an album titled When Do We Get Paid at ages 14 to 16, selling it locally, and in 2022 Luaka Bop reissued the album to global acclaim, reigniting their music career; they toured extensively, including in Europe, and collaborated with notable artists. 

They are set to release new music in 2024, marking their first new recordings in 50 years. Their revival highlights authentic Soul/Gospel/Blues, connecting two generations of gospel bands in their family.
